H&M shop opening

So yesterday I went to the new shop opening of H&M (Hennes and Mauritz) in Bishops Stortford. It was fantastic! I found out about through the www.flyeronline.co.uk website and knew that if I was there before 11am, that the first 200 customers in the queue would receive a goody bag and 25% discount for that day.

The video below (just click on the link) is me in the queue and a reveal of what was in the exclusive goody bag!

I couldn't wait to write this blog today. I feel so excited about life right now (even though I've been awake since 3am, just too excited!!) I have a few things that I am working on at them moment, like new fascinator designs for Spring/Summer 2018, Vlogging on my youtube channel TwisTfashion5, uploading DIY videos and Fashion Inspiration.

I absolutely love crafting so am very happy that I can share that with you guys and hopefully inspire you to make something too.

The best news is that I have become an affiliate partner with Amazon, which will mean that I will bring you fashion from High Street brands, sometimes discounted. I will do all the sifting through all the 1000's of different styles and brands to find you the best items.

Below are already some gorgeous items I have found. If you want to know more about the items or to buy, just click on the link and it will take you to Amazon.

Runner up in the best dressed competition at the Autumn Dubai Future Champions Festival

What a weekend!! I still can't quite believe that I won second place in the ladies best dressed competition. To be selected in the first place is amazing but the prizes are just fantastic. So well worth entering next time!! The top 8 finalists received a goody bag from the bedford spa lodge hotel, which included, skin creams, little bottle of champagne, and a bag hanger!

Then as a runner up, I won a selection of chocolates from Chocolat, Perfume from the Bedford Lodge Hotel Spa, a beautiful clutch bag from Fairfax&Favor, a £250 voucher for Coast, a blowdry and treatment at a SeanHanna Salon and a voucher for a made to measure shirt from Wolf in Sheap's clothing.

The winner even won a spa break, a Jaguar Landrover for the weekend, a hat from Ana Bella Millinery, GHD's and many more amazing prizes.

Below is a picture of me (left: Fran Bradshaw) and the winner (Right: Emma Wakelin)

My hat was obviously designed and made by me for TwisT fashion. The little fur collar is from Spitalfield Market. The Velvet Cape and matching Midi length skirt were also designed and made by me. The belt was from Primark and brown clutch bag Mulberry.

All the lovely prizes.

The Balenciaga Exhibition at the V&A museum in London (near knightsbridge)

If there is one exhibition/show you go to, then I would really recommend this one at The V and A museum in London, hopefully you will be as inspired as I was.

There is even have a display from other well known designers (e.g. Oscar de la renta, Givenchy, Erdem and many more) at the end of the exhibition paying tribute to the amazing designer Cristobal Balenciaga.

Mr Balenciaga was born in Spain in 1895 and passed away 1972. Other designers looked up to him and Christian Dior once said he is "the master of us all"

IMG_2746

He liked to play with different shapes and silhouttes. He would start with the fabric and see how that would flow/shape around the body and let that dictate the design, rather than starting with a sketch and then choosing the fabric.

IMG_2748 These may look like simple dresses but as you can see from the Xray behind they have a lot of corsetry and work underneath.

IMG_2751

IMG_2757He would design from head to toe. Some beautiful millinery on display.

IMG_2758This sequin material is my favourite and totally handmade.

To create this gradiated design, the embroiderer would build up layers of beading on a piece of silk organza and dip-dye it in pink.

Love this very elegant Yves Saint Laurent sequin feather dress, this would be perfect for a 1920's gatsby themed party.

The two dresses in the background are by Givenchy.

The Best Dressed on Ladies Day at Newmarket Races

What a fantastic day yesterday was! If you like dressing up or fashion in general then this is the place to go. I saw so many fantastic outfits, that I knew this years 'Best Dressed Lady' was going to be very difficult for the judges to decide on.

Below are 9 of the finalists with all very different outfits and headpieces in a big array of colours

IMG_2026

With over 1600 contestants that entered the competition there were bound to be some fantastic outfits that I thought were styled very well from head to toe that did not make the top 10 on stage.

DIY lace jeans

If you like making fashion items and accessories, then you have to take a look at our channel. We are aiming at uploading a NEW video of what we have created every week. Hopefully these clips will inspire you or teach you things you never knew.

The latest DIY I have done is to upcycle a pair of old ripped jeans, by distressing them further and making them pretty with lace, as this is bang on trend at the moment.

Please take a look at the tutorial below. If you don't want to miss our next create, you can either subscribe to the channel, or like our facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/twistfashion.uk
